Gossip Girl Fashion

I love and admire Leighton Meester. Not just because she is gorgeous but because she can turn into this amazing bitchy, Queen Bee character on Gossip Girl. I am a big fan of her style on and off screen and I love the dresses and mixed floral prints Leighton and her character Blair wear. Here is a few floral printed dresses that look like they are inspired by Leighton's wardrobe:

Moschino S/S 2011

Moschino is one of my favourite fashion houses with its playful, fun and feminine style. This season they have focused on spots and stripes. Here is some stills from the runway show:

shoes shoes shoes

As a shoe person who used to own over 50 pairs of heels I would consider myself a true shoe enthusiast, fair enough I did not own as many shoes as the legendary Imelda or many of our modern day style icons but none the less, those were just my heels.

A/W is almost certainly an occasion for boots (unless it’s party season) especially in Scotland, let alone Aberdeen with its infamous weather. I have seen my dream pair of winter boots in River Island, a brown pair of riding boots that are so beautiful that I will be buying them as soon as my student loan comes in.  I discovered my love for boots the Winter of 2009. Ballet flats and a freak snow storm are the ingredients for hypothermia. Throw in a 2 hour wait for the bus back to my lovely warm flat and you have a girl who will now wear nothing but boots this time of year.

Tommy Hilfiger has the most amazing over the knee, lace up, leather boots I have witnessed this season.  The designers shoes who I covet the most are Nicholas Kirkwood’s  platform heels, available at Selfridges. The shoes I will be wearing until I buy the riding boots are my pink Brogues.

It's Going to be a Cosy Winter

A statement coat is one of this season’s most important trends. Autumn and winter evoke a fashionable chill which urges fashionable and practical people to search and purchase the perfect coat.
The camel coat is a must have this A/W 2010 with its rich colour, beautiful texture and timeless tailoring. The camel coat is a beloved classic and design houses such as Nicole Farhi, Michael Kors and DKNY are introducing this style back into the fashion culture. With different design features and unique styling this coat will be huge this season.

Chanel have debuted their fur lined coats which are in a spectrum of natural and earth tones and different textures adding to the intrigue and representing the luxury design house to the maximum. Other coat style trends are embroidery and feathers and prints as seen at the Final Alexander Mqueen Fashion show and at the Christopher Kane Show. Maxmara, Burberry and Aquascutem are redesigning the classic mac. The timeless style of the mac is loved by everyone and was a trend that was popular last A/W. The fashion design students of Herriot Watt University in Galashiels were given a design brief to create a one of a kind mac. These designs were then showcased at the annual Herriot Watt Fashion Show, which was held in the Dovcott Gallery in Edinburgh. Inspirational, iconic and innovative, the practical Macintosh coat was given a dramatic and beautiful makeover.

The coat I will be wearing this season will be the Topshop faux leather jacket with shearling collar. (£58).  I love the shearling trend which has been seen on the catwalk and on the high street. This coat has been selling like hot cakes and was only available in a size 14 in the Topshop across the street. It is however available in all sizes on the Topshop website. See examples of Hogan and Gerard Darel’s shearling and leather jackets. Boots, knitwear and jackets are getting this woolly addition which updates the classic style. Country styling is a trend which has been seen on the runway can be easily transferred into everyday and casual styling. Country is going to be my favourite trend this winter. Chunky knitwear, riding boots and natural beautiful hair are required to complete the look.

Georgina's Introduction

This is my new blog, twenty3twelveUK. I'm a Scottish fashion student, studying in Aberdeen. Love the city and love my new flat. City centre, can't get much better than that and it is right across the street from one of the cities Topshops. This blog is just for fun and is not to be taken too seriously. I am in my 3rd year at RGU and after graduating would like to work in a fashion magazine, to see my name on the contributor's page and to be a part of something that influences fashion enthusiasts opinions. I love fashion and all the different trends that appear on the runway and on the high street and this blog aims to show what's out there, who's wearing what and what I'm loving at the minute.
Hope you enjoy this blog and excuse any grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
cheers!
